NEW DATE FOR SUMMER TERM 2024 TBA 3.45 - 5.45PM Blended learning course led by Paul & Julie Boyd with 2 hr live online session, plus at least 4 hrs self directed learning activities This course can also be offered as a bespoke course (online or as a one day face to face course). OUTCOME * Considering evidenced based approaches to exam success in D&T * Developing a KS3 and KS4 curriculum plan that embeds learning in long-term memory * Identifying strategies that make learning stick * Providing resources & ideas that can be used in the classroom straight away CONTENT * Includes content relevant to all D&T GCSE exam boards (with some content also relevant to A level). * Focus on teaching & learning strategies that can be used every day to develop a curriculum that embeds learning. * Developing good learning habits from KS3 onwards * Flagging up key priorities in theory content * Understanding metacognition & using evidence based strategies to support learning, such as spaced and retrieval practice. * Strategies for approaching extended answer questions * Strategies for maximising the performance of borderline students, as well as high flyers Online session introduces the main ideas & the self directed activities enable participants to create a personalised CPD programme focused on applying ideas in the classroom. RESOURCES INCLUDE: editable digital resources that can be used in the classroom immediately, self directed learning programme IMPORTANT * Course fee pays for one person to attend the live online session * Online session is held on Zoom & participants contribute via audio or video * Focus is on KS3 & D&T GCSE for England (some content may be relevant to other routes) * Content doesn't cover any one theory area in depth See bottom of home page for T&Cs, including cancellations
