Hand embroidered Woven Stainless Steel Sieve in Shadow Box Frame - Ocean Wave (Physical Product)
Stainless steel sieve with the dome decorated with hand embroidery stitches in an abstract ocean wave design. The sieve is attached to black mounting board which has been decorated with embroidery and beads. It is displayed in a black shadow box frame.
Approximate measurements: Shadow box frame width 21.5cm (width) x 26.5cm (length) x 5.5cm (depth), sieve 8cm (width). 22cm (length).
The sieve is made from stainless steel woven wire that has been hand embroidered with cotton embroidery thread. The sieve has been chosen as the base for the embroidery because the woven wire mesh is similar to traditional embroidery fabrics such as aida and canvas. The use of the sieve also challenges stereotypes of what embroidery techniques can be used for.
This embroidery is completely hand made and mounted and has taken over 18 hours to make.
The product is delicate and can't be washed and is for decorative purposes only.
