ABOUT
This course is made up of 8 separate episodes each of which has a PowerPoint presentation and supporting resources which can be used to deliver training as it is or be adapted (each episode is also suitable for individuals to use as personal CPD).
When delivered together the episodes are equivalent to at least a one day CPD course. They can also be delivered separately or as several episodes together to support development over time and to make CPD more manageable. 
A suggested structure for delivering the content is included with suggestions on activities, along with additional details and notes to support the content of each slide.

The CPD doesn't include a ready written curriculum plan or scheme of learning as these will vary from school to school depending on a variety of variables. It provides the resources for teams and individuals to start to develop and personalise their own curriculum plan.
 
The content of the course is supported with references to current educational research including unifying ideas, substantive knowledge, disciplinary knowledge, powerful knowledge, levels of difficulty and spaced and retrieval practice.
 
WHO THIS RESOURCE IS SUITABLE FOR
Suitable for heads of department to use with their teams but also suitable for use by individuals to support their personal development. 
Suitable for all material areas (note references to food are limited to its contribution to the KS3 attainment target)
Designed to be used by as part of a formal training session or more informally to prompt discussions in department meetings.
The resources provide everything needed for a one day CPD session or a series of shorter sessions (timing is approximate and actual timing depends on how resources are presented and used).
The course is divided into episodes to make approach makes professional development more manageable and allows for ideas to be tested in the classroom straight away. 
The CPD focuses on the D&T KS3 attainment target and D&T GCSE. Content may also be relevant to other D&T routes and qualifications.

The live online session includes a presentation which picks up on key elements from this self-directed CPD, along hands-on participant activities, materials samples, & additional supporting resources.
